DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

First-line supervisor responsible for hourly production/distribution employees (in a designated areas) on a single shift.

Responsibilities include:

  • training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of a team of employees to produce a quality part to satisfy our customers.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
  • Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
  • Adjusts errors and complaints.
  • Assists subordinates in performing duties.
  • Enforces and maintains safe work place.
  • May be given certain authority within job scope by Manager 
  • Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Federal-Mogul Integrity Policy.
  • All employees will abide by the plant's safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to
    procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.  An employee should report, and if necessary stop, any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself.
  • Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor/manager.




Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work any shift 1st (6:45am - 3pm), 2nd shift (2:45pm - 11pm) and/or 3rd shift (10:45pm - 7am). 
  • Must have at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment, preferably Automotive Tier 1 OEM supplier.  
  • Experience in training associates in job activities and coaching for success. Must possess computer skills.
  • Experience using Kronos timekeeping software a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
