Job description

About the Role:
As Director of Rooms you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the Lodging Department ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest experience at every touchpoint. You'll help set the vision for these departments, drive service quality and profitability, and help the teams behind them - deliver world-class hospitality every day.

About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort:
Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort also has an award-winning par-3 course, Bandon Preserve, and Shorty's opened in 2024. The two short courses are 'Courses with a Mission,' with all net proceeds funding the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation. The Foundation supports communities along the South Coast of Oregon.

Beyond premier golf, guests delight in various dining options at Bandon Dunes' collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally sourced, Pacific-Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award-winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish-style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone.

Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard-working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon's natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Set the strategic direction for the Lodging Department keeping every department aligned with resort goals.
  • Build a high-performance, guest-first culture across all four departments.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient workflows and consistent service standards resort-wide.
  • Guide reservations, revenue, and yield management strategy, including group sales, tournaments, and VIP events.
  • Analyze guest feedback and operational data to continuously improve the guest journey.
  • Develop training programs and support the growth of department leaders and their teams.
  • Manage the Rooms Division budget, controlling costs while optimizing resources.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards across all departments.
  • Partner with other resort leaders - Food & Beverage, Golf Operations, Sales, and more - to deliver a unified guest experience.
What You Bring:
  • 7+ years of progressive hotel or resort leadership experience, including at least 3 years overseeing rooms, front office, reservations, and/or group services operations.
  • Previous experience working at Bandon Dunes is a plus.
  • A track record of developing and executing strategies that improve efficiency, service quality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Experience leading large, multi-department teams.
  • Working knowledge of yield management and revenue optimization.
  • Familiarity with group and tournament event coordination.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Perks and Benefits For Full Time Employees:
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy a well-rounded benefits package that covers your health, wellness, and financial future.
  • Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to relax and recharge with our PTO plan.
  • Free Golf Privileges: Tee off at some of the most iconic courses in the world with complimentary golf access.
  • Quarterly Incentives: When our team meets resort-wide performance goals, we get rewarded.
  • Complimentary Lunch: Stay energized with a complimentary lunch in our Staff Cafe during your shift.
  • Resort Discounts: Save on dining and merchandise throughout the resort.
  • Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that supports your growth and success, with opportunities to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Career Growth: Take advantage of continuous training and development opportunities to advance your career.

This role is based on-site at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on the southern Oregon coast. You'll split your time between office work and being out among our guests and teams, helping bring Genuine Hospitality to life across the resort.
