Purpose/Summary Statement

The Director of Sales Development plays a critical role in shaping the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales function, empowering our sales team with the tools, processes, and strategies they need to excel. This role combines strategic oversight of sales operations with hands‑on enablement initiatives that support our field team. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies that align with company goals, managing training and sales team development, and strengthening our position in the U.S. market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of field sales operations processes, systems, and tools to optimize the sales cycle and enhance overall productivity.
  • Develop and manage key sales performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to provide actionable insights to senior leadership and regional sales teams.
  • Collaborate with finance, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution of sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversee territory and account management strategies, ensuring optimal coverage and efficient resource allocation.
  • Drive the sales forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals and market conditions.
  • Manage CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ensure seamless integration of data flows to provide the sales teams with the insights they need to drive performance.
  • Own process and implementation of territory changes in collaboration with the Chief Sales Officer.
  • Represent the Pro team in demand planning meetings.
Sales Enablement Strategy
  • Design and execute a comprehensive sales enablement strategy to provide the sales team with resources, content, training, and support to close deals and grow revenue.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs, continuous training, and certification processes to ensure sales teams are well‑versed in product knowledge and effective selling techniques.
  • Create and manage sales playbooks, competitive intelligence, and selling tools that empower the team to engage effectively with customers and prospects.
  • Partner with marketing to align messaging, campaigns, and promotional efforts, ensuring consistency in communication and brand positioning.
  • Analyze sales performance data to inform enablement strategies.
  • Provide 1:1 support/training for team members on processes or system usage.
  • Utilize mapping software to effectively assign accounts to the appropriate sales team.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Services Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership, offering strategic insights and recommendations to drive revenue growth and streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including marketing, finance, product development, and operations teams, to ensure successful execution of sales initiatives.
  • Support sales leadership in aligning regional strategies with corporate goals for consistent execution across markets.
  • Formulate monthly sales targets based on comprehensive sales history and professional channel goals.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting and performance analysis to leadership, including monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Use data‑driven insights and analytics to track performance, adjust strategies, and drive results.
  • Own creation of new reports in Sisense and provide ad hoc reporting for leadership and the professional sales channel as needed.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing sales strategies that drive measurable revenue growth.

  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting, territory management, and pipeline optimization.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
