Job description


We have an exciting opportunity for a Remote Licensed Director, Retirement Planner in the Greater Metro-Phoenix area! The position is remote and requires that you reside in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area.

The Role
As a Director, Retirement Planner on the Tax-Exempt Market Planning and Advice (TEMPA) team, you will play a critical role in helping workplace retirement plan participants achieve their long-term financial goals through personalized planning and investment guidance. Working closely with a cross-functional team that includes the Managing Director, Workplace Regional Manager, Planning & Guidance team, and retail partners, you will deliver high-quality one-on-one consultations covering retirement planning, investment strategies, income planning, portfolio reviews, and plan education. By understanding each participant's unique financial circumstances, you will provide tailored recommendations designed to support informed decision-making and financial success.
This role is responsible for driving participant engagement, satisfaction, and business growth by delivering comprehensive planning and investment solutions to high-net-worth workplace participants. Key responsibilities include meeting or exceeding established performance goals, identifying opportunities to introduce Fidelity products and services, and supporting both Personal and Workplace Investments growth initiatives. In partnership with the Tax-Exempt Market onsite team, you will foster strong participant relationships across multiple workplace client organizations, enhance the client experience, and create opportunities to expand and deepen Fidelity relationships.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in investment sales, wealth management, or financial planning
  • Series 7 & 66 preferred; Series 7 & 63 required, with the ability to acquire 65/66 within 90 days of hire
  • Proven success developing and managing relationships with high-net-worth clients while driving business growth and asset acquisition
  • Strong knowledge of investment products and services, including brokerage, insurance, wealth management, estate planning, and retirement planning strategies
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence plan sponsors, participants, and other key stakeholders

Our mission is to serve as a trusted partner for plan sponsors and participants, providing education and financial planning and advice for our 403b and 457 plan participants. Our value is delivered to over one million plan participants every year, encouraging them to reach their financial goals and bringing the broader Fidelity Advantage to life.
Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
