Job description

General Function: Under general supervision of the Senior Marketing Manager, this role manages and executes marketing initiatives across a wide range of products and programs. Exercises initiative and sound judgment in managing projects independently, taking ownership of responsibilities and ensuring successful execution from planning through results analysis. Provides insightful, actionable findings from data and research to optimize business goals and objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages and executes annual marketing plans for products and programs including Financial Planning Review, Pro Bono engagement, Emeritus Program, Practice Exams, digital certificates, Continuing Education (CE)-eligible webinars
  • Owns execution of marketing initiatives for certification renewal and reinstatement programs, designing multi-channel campaigns that boost renewal rates, reduce churn, and win back lapsed certificants
  • Monitors and reports on the success of Candidate Forum in collaboration with Senior Marketing Manager
  • Manages the online store and related product sales and budgets; creates and manages annual marketing plan for increasing revenue; manages branded merchandise for CFP Board and events; implements and manages internal storefront to facilitate staff-requested branded merchandise
  • Analyzes data from platforms such as NetForum, Tableau, HubSpot and GA4 to extract meaningful insights and drive informed decision-making; reports on data to other members of Marketing team to enhance strategy
  • Supports Marketing, Education, CE and Experience, Development/Fundraising and Corporate Growth teams’ initiatives with data transfers, discount/offer tracking, and direct response projects
  • Develops, executes and optimizes email performance for various teams including Education, Experience, and Development/Fundraising; collaborates with other members of Marketing & Communications department to ensure accuracy and optimization
  • Coordinates with external partner organizations – including NAPFA, FPA and Quad-A on data sharing, reporting on key metrics, and supports efforts for cross-promotion with these organizations
  • Annual Conference planning support and marketing execution
  • Represents CFP Board as an exhibitor at external conferences/tradeshows
  • Manages relationships with external vendors, including print and mail houses, digital certificate vendor, certificate framing vendor and mobile app vendor
  • Performs other Marketing duties as assigned

Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other related discipline
  • Minimum five years of experience developing marketing plans with measurable KPIs
  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and take ownership from planning through execution and evaluation
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with a variety of internal constituencies, develop partner relationships and rapport, and influence thinking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate to expert level administrator in email marketing tools; HubSpot preferred
  • Beginner to intermediate user of business intelligence tools, Tableau preferred
  • Understand best practices around website analytics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to organize multiple tasks and develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability
  • Experience executing integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns across email, direct mail, and telemarketing
  • Experience managing external vendors and cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to travel to up to 5 events per year, including external conferences/tradeshows and the annual Connections Conference
  • Strong initiative, drive, and attention to detail
  • Effective project management skills
  • Experience with budgets and P&L

This position is based in the Washington D.C. office and works a hybrid schedule which could be changed at any time.
