GDIT has been supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS) mission for 20+ years; working with the agency to provide integral services to raise health access and availability to 2.6 million American Indians and Alaska Natives.You'llbe part of modernizing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform to enable better data access, patient experience, and quality of care for 567 tribes in 37 states and over 600 medical facilities.

Our work depends on a Clinical Informaticist joining our team to support the IHS Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program. As a Clinical Informaticist supporting the IHS EHRM program, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to the client.

HOW A CLINICAL INFORMATICIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • The Clinical Informaticist serves as an expert role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings.
  • Represents cliical interests in partnerships with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.
  • Provides workflow analysis, project implementation, and operational support to customer.
  • Serves as subject matter expert within inpatient nursing and ancillary fields and corporate partners to establish and disseminate best practices for integrated technologies.
  • Identifies highest-value opportunities to proposed solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers, based on data and observation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting medium to large IT projects.
  • Knowledge of Indian Health Services workflows.
  • Extensive knowledge ofOracleHealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Specific knowledge of inpatient nursing, ancillary, and rehab workflows.
  • Proficiency with clinical decision support tools, workflow automation, and clinicaldocumentationtools.
  • Experience working in clinical informatics or a clinical setting with health IT experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize technical and clinical information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage nursing teams and leadership effectively.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $129,813 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
