The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LADS) department is seeking a Chief Engineer (CE) and Technical Director (TD) with technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems. The Qatar CE/TD will be directly responsible for all country capability roadmaps, system analysis, concept development, requirements development, hardware design, software design, integration thread development, system performance to include integration and test, and integrated sustainment plans on the Qatar Patriot program and future Qatar LWAD programs. This position will directly interface with the customers from the United States Government (USG) and the Qatar Government.
This is an onsite position based in Tewksbury, MA and may require occasional travel. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Land and Air Defense Systems strategic business unit.
What You Will Do
  • Establish and manage a program vision, strategy and goals to align the Program with the Customer and facilitate conflict resolution
  • Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across all Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Cross Product Teams (CPTs), and disciplines within the Program to cost, schedule, technical requirements
  • Primary program technical point of contact with the customer senior technical counterparts and internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
  • Provide technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM) compliance
  • ~10% Domestic/International travel

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience,
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in Patriot Program (or other radar program) system design, development, integration/verification, production, and sustainment
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry
  • Direct experience with International FMS programs and International Supplier's/Partner's engineering execution
  • Direct experience with Army IAMD Systems of Systems (SoS)
  • Direct experience in concepts of operations development and/or design of system level architecture
  • Direct experience managing resources with annual budgets exceeding $25 million
  • Direct experience supporting proposals with annual engineering run rates exceeding $25 million
  • Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management
  • Demonstrated experience with globally distributed engineering execution organizations (CONUS and OCONUS)
  • Direct experience with international industrial participation and technology transfer
  • Existing Secret Clearance (DoD)
  • Raytheon Chief Engineer Leveled

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
