Responsibilities
Leads engineering teams in the design, development, integration, and testing of IFE software systems, applying SAFe Agile practices to deliver scalable and aviation compliant solutions. Incorporates AI/ML technologies to enhance personalization, predictive capabilities, and system efficiency across IFE platforms.
What you will be doing:
Software Engineering
  • Lead engineering teams in the research, design, development, integration, and testing of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) software systems and platforms.
  • Apply SAFe Agile principles to drive iterative development, continuous integration, predictability, and engineering excellence.
  • Provide technical leadership across software design, development, coding, debugging, and implementation for new and existing products.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standard engineering concepts, methodologies, and development practices.
    Support requirements development based on specifications, user inputs, system behaviors, and preliminary design concepts.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance product capability, reduce cost, and meet environmental and regulatory constraints.
  • Architect and integrate AI/ML technologies to enhance personalization, predictive analytics, system intelligence, and operational efficiency across IFE platforms.
  • Drive problem solving activities and ensure solutions meet design intent, performance expectations, and qualification requirements.

Management
  • Hire, train, develop and appraise direct staff.
  • Anticipates financial needs, quantifies budget to support project planning, and manages budget per forecast and schedules.

The salary range of $133,000 - $223,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
  • 4 year degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or other Technical Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or 9+ years of relevant software experience in lieu of a 4 year degree.
  • 5+ years supervisory, team lead, or project leader experience.
  • Cabin avionics and In-flight entertainment experience highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of designing, development, coding, testing, debugging and implementing technical projects for the fabrication, modification and evaluation of new or existing software solutions or products.
  • Proficient with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Software Engineering field.
  • Proficient in designing and developing requirements from specifications, oral instructions, or preliminary sketches.
  • Agile software development and DevOps skills preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate organizational transformation to support business strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive ownership and accountability in delivering quality products on time to customers.
  • Ability to develop and implement test methods and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, people and team building skills. Ability to effectively resolve staff issues as they arise.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with proactive attitude.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year plus a paid company-wide shut down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
