Job Title: Instructional Designer Learning & Development

Location: Atlanta, GA, 30308 (Hybrid: 3x/Week)

Contract: 12+ Months. Long-term.

Industry: Rail Transportation.

***Notes: This is currently a hybrid three days a week and will have flexibility to work remote based on projects.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Instructional Designer to support the development and implementation of learning strategies that align with our company's cultural transformation and drive business outcomes. This role will design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences across all organizational levels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in instructional design, curriculum development, and stakeholder engagement, with a passion for fostering continuous learning and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement learning strategies that support organizational transformation and business goals.
  • Conduct thorough needs analyses to identify learning objectives and target audience needs.
  • Develop engaging instructional materials in alignment with Mature Learner Education Model principles and instructional design theory.
  • Create a variety of learning solutions including eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), videos, and blended learning.
  • Lead "train-the-trainer" sessions to prepare facilitators for successful program delivery.
  • Design assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and continuously improve learning outcomes.
  • Develop leadership curricula informed by current research, industry benchmarks, and organizational assessments.
  • Apply agile learning design methodologies to ensure timely, high-quality content development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define learning needs, manage expectations, and ensure timely delivery of learning solutions.
  • Serve as the lead instructional designer on projects, coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs), graphic designers, and other team members.
  • Deliver high-quality training assets using a variety of authoring tools and media formats.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation and iteration of learning solutions based on learner feedback and business results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Mature Learner Education Model, Communications, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in instructional design and learning program development.
  • Proven ability to apply instructional design models and Mature Learner Education Model.
  • Strong project management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certification in personality assessments (e.g., DISC, HBDI, MBTI) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LMS and LXP platforms.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors or other HRIS systems preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and instructional design tools such as:
  • Articulate RISE & Storyline
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Video and audio editing software
  • Digital product design tools
