The Director of Operations is the leader responsible for driving excellence across manufacturing and service operations. This role oversees all major operational functions-including Logistics, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Facility Maintenance, Receiving, Value Stream Mapping, IT Integrations, and Operational Transactions-to build a unified, scalable, highperformance operating model. The executive partners with senior leadership to shape strategy, strengthen organizational capability, and deliver sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead multisite operations under a cohesive strategic vision.
  • Develop longrange operational strategies supporting growth, scalability, and financial performance.
  • Establish standardized frameworks, KPIs, and performance expectations.
  • Represent operations in executive planning and corporate initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily manufacturing, assembly, and service operations to meet quality, throughput, and cost goals.
  • Lead Logistics, transportation, and distribution performance.
  • Direct Purchasing strategy, supplier management, and cost management initiatives to ensure material availability and team performance.
  • Manage Warehouse Operations and Receiving for accurate material flow and inventory integrity.
  • Oversee Facility Maintenance and equipment reliability.
  • Drive Value Stream Mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and enhance throughput.
  • Ensure accurate ERP/MRP Operational Transactions.
  • Partner with IT to advance automation and IT Integrations.

Supply Chain & Inventory

  • Lead supply chain planning, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Implement logistics and material handling systems that support growth.
  • Optimize working capital through bestinclass inventory practices.
  • Build strategic vendor partnerships to improve cost, quality, and reliability.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop plant managers, supervisors, and operational teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Attract and retain top operational talent.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Own operational P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
  • Use KPIs to drive datainformed decisions and margin improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Partner with finance on operational performance and planning.

CrossFunctional & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product development to support customer and product strategies.
  • Partner with corporate teams on enterprise initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

Performance Metrics

  • Operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Ontime delivery and service turnaround.
  • Quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Achievement of financial and growth targets.
  • Leadership effectiveness and team engagement.

Key candidate experience:

  • Experience in implementing advanced material handling systems
  • Strong understanding of warehousing, light assembly, and packaging operations
  • Strong logistics background - small package, LTL, and company-owned trucking
  • Strong leadership characteristics - builds strong partnerships across the business unit and within the enterprise. Lead by example, servant leadership mindset
  • Working knowledge of S&OP/SI&OP methodologies for forecasting and capacity planning
  • Desire to work in the details, 'get your hands dirty', proactively drive opportunities
  • Operational leadership experience within a mixed D2C/B2B environment is a plus

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to unify and motivate teams.
  • Deep expertise in manufacturing, service operations, logistics, and supply chain.
  • Proven P&L ownership and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and operational analytics.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and decisionmaking skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership in manufacturing, distribution, or service environments preferred.
  • Experience in automotive, powersports, or highperformance vehicle industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success scaling multisite operations.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/office environment with periods of walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires visual acuity for computerbased data entry and validation.
