Job Description: 

L3Harris is seeking a Director of Operations to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas. This Director role will report to the Camden Site Leader, Sr. Director of Camden Operations in Missile solutions.  The Camden, Arkansas site is a critical site linked to the success of Missile Solutions and to the defense of our nation and allies.  The site manufactures, tests, and delivers solid rocket motors for more than 20 high profile programs with over 1,400 people and has tremendous growth forecasted for the foreseeable future.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provide leadership and management of inert and energetic operations for the Camden, Arkansas site.

  • Provide leadership to a diverse team and mentor the team in achieving operational excellence.

  • Develop operations leaders and operators by ensuring we have leaders and operators that are ready for the next level through deliberate training and succession planning.

  • Lead site visit interactions with external customers and government officials.

  • Ensure compliance to both safety and QA regulatory offices. 

  • Ensure that both commercial and government QA certifications are maintained through site compliance.

  • Lead all site activities to ensure products are produced to schedule and budget. 

  • Interface with Program Managers to ensure alignment of resources and capabilities to meet business demands.

  • Lead site activities that ensure standard business practices are in place and practiced across all of Operations.

  • Work with Human Resources to improve employee experience within the Operations Division, resulting in attrition reduction and talent attraction. 

  • Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related operations experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related operations experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related operatons experience.

  • 8+ years experience leading manufacturing/production operations within the aerospace and defense industry.   

  • 5+ years experience managing a DOD compliant Earned Value Management budget system.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience leading production operations in a DOD energetic facility.

  • Experience using LEAN principles leading production operations.

  • Thorough understanding and demonstrated use of ERP systems.
