Job description

Our job is to help shape the story before it goes out of control and ensure issues and crises are mitigated in prompt and effective way in order to prevent harm to a company's reputation and business. We help top organizations manage breaking negative issues and events affecting reputation and prepare and navigate them effectively. From protests, bankruptcies and leadership controversies to product recalls, high-stakes litigation and unfounded stories, we are positioned to protect our clients where it matters most.
We are looking for an experienced mid-level or higher crisis communications professional to support crisis preparedness and planning activities, crisis simulations, and live crisis response for a wide range of high-profile clients. The ideal candidate has extensive corporate communications and issues management background with the ability to understand and distill complex subject matter quickly.
Responsibilities
• Extensive experience advising corporate leaders including C-Suite on a range of critical reputational and positioning issues
• Demonstrated success navigating challenging policy, political, and business challenges
• Strategic thinker able to draw from expertise across corporate reputation, public affairs, crisis management and stakeholder engagement
• Builds credibility with clients by offering knowledgeable observations, insights and strategic thinking regarding communications and public affairs activities, informed by prior experience
• Support a range of corporate issues and crisis communications situations including cybersecurity/ data breach issues, product safety issues and recalls, employee misbehavior, NGO campaigns, litigation, investigative reporting, and more
• Serve as the day-to-day client contact flagging, triaging and managing client issues as they arise
• Develop and draft crisis plans, media strategies, reactive media statements, talking points, FAQs, memos, crisis simulations and other deliverables as needed
• Oversee and execute proactive media outreach and reactive media relations strategies as needed
• Provide regular counsel to clients and colleagues
• Collaborate with client partners as appropriate, such as legal counsel, vendors, etc.
• A demonstrated track record in managing crises and complex, high-risk assignments
• Experience working with legal teams, both in-house and outside counsel
• Experience working with news media, notably business and financial media and/or investigative journalists
• Ability to work as a self-starter, requiring limited supervision
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can-do attitude and ability to collaborate with colleagues across the network
• Poise and confidence to hold your own with senior executives and boards
• Attention to detail is a must
