Are you an accomplished Director of Nursing (DON) who thrives in a fast-paced short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing environment? The Medical Suites at Oak Creek is seeking an experienced, results-driven Registered Nurse (RN) to lead our nursing team in delivering exceptional post-acute and long-term care.

Our facility specializes in short-term rehabilitation, post-hospital recovery, and skilled nursing services, requiring a leader who excels in clinical operations, interdisciplinary collaboration, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and team development. Position Summary

As the Director of Nursing, you will provide leadership and oversight for all nursing services while ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and clinical performance. This role is ideal for a leader who is comfortable managing a fast-paced, high-acuity short-term rehabilitation environment while maintaining exceptional care for our long-term residents.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the nursing leadership team and nursing staff.

  • Direct all nursing operations and clinical services.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and Wisconsin regulations.

  • Lead survey preparedness and oversee Plans of Correction.

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and improve clinical outcomes.

  • Oversee infection prevention, quality assurance, and risk management programs.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional resident care.

  • Review admissions and participate in care planning.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and employee development.

  • Ensure all nursing licenses and certifications remain current.

  • Conduct routine clinical rounds and provide visible leadership throughout the facility.

  • Assist with budgeting, labor management, and departmental performance.

  • Provide after-hours leadership support as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Previous Director of Nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is strongly preferred.

  • Experience leading in a fast-paced short-term rehabilitation and post-acute care environment.

  • Experience managing high-volume admissions, Medicare residents, complex clinical operations, and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in long-term care.

  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey readiness, Quality Measures (QMs), and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams, improving clinical outcomes, and developing nursing staff.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • A hands-on leader who leads by example and builds a culture of accountability, teamwork, and compassion.
