Director of Healthcare Compliance & Safety

The Director of Compliance and Safety works in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources to develop and establish an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to provide education to employees that meets regulatory guidelines. This position coordinates the company safety programs by identifying potential areas of company vulnerability and risk, conducting investigations, determining corrective actions, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in area related to business, journalism, or bachelor’s degree specialized in a health care related major, or commensurate related experience level
  • Familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations and standards preferred
  • Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) certification a plus

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance

  • Training Compliance — Ensure training compliance by tracking completion, maintaining training records, communicating to employees, reporting, and verifying recertification.
  • Policy Development — Create, update, and enforce organizational policies related to safety, compliance, business ethics, codes of conduct, emergency preparedness, and compliance with Federal and State regulatory agencies.
  • Compliance Communication Program — Promoting the use of a compliance hotline, heightened awareness of Standards of Conduct, and understanding new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures and overseeing system for handling compliance violations.

Safety

  • Workers’ Compensation — Manage workers’ compensation claims, coordinate insurance partners, and ensure timely reporting and follow‑up.
  • Safety Manual & SDS Management — Maintain the organizational Safety Manual, Safety Binder, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Binders; ensure accessibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Safety Drills & Preparedness — Plan and execute fire drills, emergency response drills, and evacuation procedures for residents and team members; evaluate performance and implement improvements.
  • SHARP Readiness — Lead SHARP readiness efforts, maintain OSHA plans, conduct job hazard assessments, and coordinate onsite evaluations.
