Job Description:
The Director of Student Engagement provides leadership for programs, services, and initiatives that foster student connection, belonging, leadership development, and overall success across Savannah Technical College's campuses. This position develops and implements a comprehensive student engagement strategy that supports recruitment, retention, persistence, completion, and workforce readiness.
The Director creates meaningful opportunities for students to engage with the College, their peers, faculty, employers, and the community while ensuringequitableaccess to programming across all instructional locations. The position also oversees student organizations, leadership development, student activities, and student life initiatives that contribute to a vibrant college experience.
Create initiatives that promote student retention, persistence, graduation, and a sense of belonging.
Coordinate Welcome Week, New Student Orientation engagement activities, Student Appreciation Week, and other signature campus traditions.
Develop programming that supports first-year students, adult learners, veterans, dual enrollment graduates transitioning to college, and nontraditional students.
Support honor societies and career-focused student organizations, including SkillsUSA, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Beta Lambda, HOSA, and other student organizations.
Plan and coordinate a comprehensive calendar of educational, cultural, recreational, leadership, and community engagement activities.
Ensure student programming is available across all Savannah TechnicalCollegeinstructional locations, including Savannah, Effingham, Liberty, Crossroads, and the Savannah Culinary Institute.
Maintainaccuraterecords, reports, contracts, and risk management documentation for student events and programs.
Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.The employeefrequentlybends,liftsand carries lightweight objects up to 25 pounds.A full range of hand and finger motion isrequiredfor data entry purposes.
Salary iscommensuratewith education and work experience.Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university *and* Five (5) years of experience in management or the defined departmental area.
