About the Opportunity:
Sterling Engineering is partnering to identify an experienced Director, MEP to join their executive leadership team. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving business growth, developing client relationships, leading engineering teams, and overseeing the successful execution of projects. The Director will serve as a Principal in Charge (PIC) for key clients while also functioning as a Senior Project Manager on select projects. This role offers the opportunity to shape the firm's long-term vision, mentor engineering staff, and influence company-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive leadership and contribute to the firm's strategic planning and long-term vision.
  • Serve as Principal in Charge (PIC) for key client accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while leading capture plans and proposal efforts.
  • Lead and mentor engineering managers, team leaders, and technical staff.
  • Allocate engineering resources to support project workloads and staffing needs.
  • Oversee project profitability, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and operational performance.
  • Supervise hiring, performance evaluations, professional development, compensation recommendations, and employee growth initiatives.
  • Manage select projects as a Senior Project Manager while ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
  • Participate in Executive Leadership and Leadership Council meetings to support company growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineering license (or applicable discipline license) required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an MEP consulting engineering environment.
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams, project managers, and technical staff.
  • Strong business development, client relationship management, and strategic planning experience.
  • Experience overseeing staffing, resource allocation, project profitability, and operational performance.
