Job Announcement
Director of Operations
Primary Function:
The Director of Operations will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to oversee and coordinate key operational initiatives across Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN). This position will help ensure the successful execution of strategic projects, improve organizational efficiency, and support MBN's transformation into a modern, digital-first media organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following tasks are considered essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:
  • Partner with the COO to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of MBN, working closely with Information Technology, Facilities, Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, and other departments.
  • Coordinate multiple operational and strategic projects simultaneously, monitoring progress, identifying potential bottlenecks, and developing solutions to keep initiatives on schedule.
  • Maintain a comprehensive project tracker and executive dashboard that provides visibility into project status, deadlines, milestones, risks, and ownership.
  • Work with Finance to monitor operational budgets and expenditures, ensuring projects remain aligned with organizational financial objectives.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend vendors, technologies, and operational solutions that support MBN's transition to a robust digital media organization.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to ensure all acquisitions and vendor engagements comply with MBN policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage vendor relationships on behalf of the COO by tracking deliverables, timelines, contract milestones, and overall performance.
  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen collaboration, and streamline workflows across departments.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating organizational initiatives, including meetings, presentations, briefings, and executive communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Foster clear, proactive, and professional communication across departments to ensure alignment on organizational priorities.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and perform other duties as assigned by the COO.

Other Duties:
Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates are required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, public administration, project management, communications, media management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in operations, project management, administration, business management, media operations, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex operational initiatives.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, budgeting, vendor management, and operational best practices.
  • Experience working in media, nonprofit, government, or similarly complex organizations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management software and productivity tools.
