About the role

The Operations Director will oversee the strategic and operations leadership of the Manufacturing and Packaging Departments to meet quality standards and forecasted production schedules while being cost efficient. This role leads the operations department in its drive toward zero accidents, zero defects, and zero waste and actively serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team. The role will be responsible for creating and implementing new processes, technical management of existing processes and the overall continuous improvement in both departments by holding their team accountable. As a senior leader, the candidate will coach their managers in leadership & behavioural competencies expectations to deliver high impact business results.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational standards in accordance to Safety, cGMP, and Quality standards and requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the site's long-term strategic plan.
  • Develop the operating and capital budget for site.
  • Provide leadership to set aggressive objectives and ensure performance standards are met.
  • Deploy CI ways of working to drive performance improvement by developing standards of accountability and reporting of Operations Managers.
  • Analyze inefficiencies and lead efforts to maximize the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), quality, delivery, and cost of both Manufacturing and Packaging departments.
  • Collaborate, influence, and have direct engagement with executive leadership during onsite meetings, kaizen events, workshops, and site reviews.
  • Understand complex business operations, identify best practices, and provide recommendations on areas of improvement.
  • Communicate key findings and best practices to Site Leadership Team (SLT) and Site Director.
  • Foster successful cross functional relationships with Quality, Logistics, Engineering, CI, and other groups which support day-to-day operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or related field. Manufacturing, Engineering, or Related field
  • Minimum ten years' experience managing an Operations/Production process.

  • Understanding of the End to End Supply Chain.
  • Proven ability to champion change and innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate process improvement.
  • Proven ability to influence others and foster collaboration.
  • Ability to facilitate groups and individuals through the decision-making process.

  • Experience coordinating manpower requirements meeting daily operational goals.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of production models and capacity scheduling.
  • Ability to think strategically as well as manage day to day tactical issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of cGMPs and Haleon Quality Management System.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage performance.
