Job description

*This role is located in Brazil, Indiana - US plant

As the Operational Excellence Engineer, you are responsible for driving continuous improvement and elevating operational performance across the site. You will lead initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability through structured problem-solving, standardization, data-driven decision-making, and effective change management.

You will be onsite in Brazil, Indiana (US plant) and will report to the Plant Manager. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the site
  • Apply Lean tools such as A3, root cause analysis, 5S, visual management, flow, and pull systems
  • Drive process standardization and sustain daily management systems (KPIs, visual controls, routines)
  • Facilitate kaizen events, value stream mapping, and cross-functional workshops
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS teams
  • Train and mentor employees on Lean principles and problem-solving methods
  • Support change management and sustain operational improvements
  • Track and communicate performance metrics and improvement results
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of manufacturing, operations, engineering, or continuous improvement experience preferred
  • Strong experience with Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to influence teams and work closely with operations
  • Proficient in Excel; Power BI experience is a plus
