SEVEN PEAKS FENCE & BARN
Director of Manufacturing Godley, TX
ABOUT THE ROLE
Seven Peaks Fence & Barn is a growing direct-to-consumer brand in the livestock and equine industry,
manufacturing fencing and agricultural products out of our production facility in Godley, TX. As we scale
across multiple locations, our manufacturing operation is the engine that keeps every branch stocked,
every order fulfilled, and every customer promise kept.
The Director of Manufacturing owns the Godley production facility from the floor up. This is a lean
manufacturing leadership role for someone who has built (or rebuilt) a shop around discipline, visibility,
and standard work someone who treats 5S as a daily habit rather than a poster on the wall, and who
can turn that discipline into throughput, quality, and a team that takes pride in its space.
You are not here to run a shop that gets by. You are here to build the systems, standards, and culture
that let Seven Peaks scale manufacturing across multiple locations without losing control of quality or
cost.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own full P&L-level accountability for the Godley manufacturing facility, including labor, materials, throughput, and scrap
- Lead the shop transition to a true lean manufacturing operation: standard work, takt time, visual management, and continuous improvement (kaizen)
- Champion and sustain 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) across every workstation, cell, and storage area
- Build, document, and maintain SOPs for core production equipment and processes, and ensure the floor actually runs on them
- Recruit, train, and lead shop foremen, production leads, and floor associates with clear expectations and consistent accountability
- Manage production scheduling and staffing to hit on-time fulfillment targets across all product lines (Continuous Fence, Livestock Panels, Horse Panels, Hitching Posts, Hardware)
- Drive quality control and reduce rework through root-cause problem solving, not band-aid fixes
- Own equipment uptime: preventive maintenance schedules, safety compliance, and proper operation of tube notchers, welding stations, forklifts, and related machinery
- Track and report key manufacturing KPIs (OEE, scrap rate, on-time completion, labor efficiency) to ownership and regional leadership
- Manage raw material planning and inventory accuracy in partnership with purchasing and yard operations
Set the safety culture for the facility and ensure OSHA compliance across all production activities - Identify bottlenecks, flag what isn't working, and lead the changes to fix it this role builds the systems other locations will eventually run on
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience leading a manufacturing floor, production shop, or fabrication facility, ideally in metal fabrication, fencing, agricultural products, or related industries
- Hands-on knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and a track record of implementing 5S from the ground up
- Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, and throughput in a make-to-stock or make-to-order environment
- Strong people leadership: you know how to hire, train, and hold a shop floor team accountable without micromanaging
- Comfortable with metal fabrication equipment and processes (tube notching, welding, cutting, forming) and the safety standards around them
- Data-driven: comfortable building and reading production reports, inventory data, and basic KPIs
- A builder's mindset someone who documents standard work, writes real SOPs, and leaves systems better than they found them
- Clear, proactive communicator who works well with ownership, regional operations, and other locations
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Experience in metal fabrication, fencing, building materials, or agricultural product manufacturing
- Formal training or certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
