The Systems Architect functions as a top technical expert supporting enterprise technical infrastructure and leads all architecture-related technical processes for the program. A qualified candidate will serve as the primary technical authority for system architecture design and integration, working to define and implement IT system architectures for multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across a large-scale distributed enterprise.

As a recognized master in the technical discipline, this individual contributor will implement strategic goals and establish operational plans for the technical area. This role is for an individual contributor at SME level who serves as a recognized master in the technical discipline not a people manager. The focus is on technical architecture leadership, design authority, and strategic implementation rather than direct team management.

Responsibilities: Function as the top technical expert for enterprise IT system architecture supporting operational service delivery Design and define IT system architecture for integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise, with emphasis on AWS Cloud Services (C2S/C2E) Analyze system needs, system development, systems process analysis, design, and re-engineering to solve business problems with technology Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system across the large-scale, distributed enterprise IT environment (>10,000 users) Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies in operational services Develop and document the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards in accordance with service level agreements Assist in the development and management of an architecture governance process Provide technical leadership and guidance to operations teams, removing technical obstacles to superior performance Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and integrate best practices that will have impact on functional results Communicate with executive leadership regarding technical architecture strategy and implementation Foster collaborative communication with all internal and external technical partners including operations centers and the enterprise service center Qualifications: Required: Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT-related discipline 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a technical expert in enterprise IT architecture and systems design 8+ years of current experience designing and implementing architectures for large-scale enterprise IT environments (>10,000 users) Demonstrated experience in systems architecture supporting enterprise operations, including minimum of five years working with IT operations centers Demonstrated and current experience designing IT system architectures utilizing AWS Cloud Services, with emphasis on C2S/C2E experience Proven ability to implement strategic goals and establish operational plans for technical areas Experience developing innovative technical solutions through research and integration of best practices Desired: Demonstrated experience in enterprise IT architecture with emphasis on IC managed services AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification is a plus Experience providing technical leadership and direction to technical teams in operational environments - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity. Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
