Lead Inventory Strategy for One of the Fastest-Growing Marine Dealership Groups in the Industry
Boater's World Marine Centers is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Inventory & Consignment Operations to oversee inventory acquisition, consignment operations, inventory flow, and merchandising standards across our growing dealership network.
This role is rooted in the marine dealership industry and is designed for someone who understands high-volume inventory operations, dealership processes, and customer-facing consignment sales. While marine dealership experience is strongly preferred, we are also highly interested in candidates coming from luxury automotive, exotic vehicle, RV, powersports, or premium dealership environments who have experience managing high-value inventory and white-glove customer relationships.
As our dealership network continues to scale, this role will create centralized ownership and accountability around inventory health, acquisition strategy, and consignment performance across multiple locations.
What You'll Be Doing
Inventory Acquisition & Consignment Oversight
  • Lead inventory acquisition efforts across all dealership locations through consignment, trade-ins, purchasing, broker relationships, and customer outreach
  • Oversee and standardize consignment processes across the organization
  • Support dealership teams in sourcing and onboarding high-quality marine inventory
  • Evaluate incoming units and assist with pricing strategy, market positioning, and profitability analysis
  • Negotiate consignment agreements and acquisition terms with customers and partners

Inventory Strategy & Performance
  • Monitor inventory aging, turn rates, and overall inventory health across all locations
  • Analyze market trends and demand to support inventory mix and purchasing decisions
  • Partner with sales leadership to align inventory strategy with revenue goals
  • Develop strategies to improve inventory flow, visibility, and consistency organization-wide

Merchandising & Inventory Presentation
  • Establish and maintain dealership standards for inventory presentation, staging, photography, and online merchandising
  • Ensure all inventory listings are accurate, professional, and optimized for customer engagement
  • Work closely with dealership teams to improve unit readiness and sales presentation

Operational Leadership
  • Maintain oversight of inventory tracking, titles, consignment documentation, and dealership records
  • Ensure consistent and accurate use of Lightspeed and related inventory systems
  • Coordinate transportation, intake, inspections, service scheduling, and inventory movement between locations
  • Partner with Accounting, Sales, Service, and Operations teams to improve inventory processes and accountability

Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Support and guide dealership consignment teams and inventory personnel
  • Develop standardized workflows and best practices across all locations
  • Train teams on inventory procedures, merchandising expectations, and customer experience standards
  • Provide reporting and performance insights to executive leadership

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in dealership inventory management, consignment operations, acquisitions, or related leadership roles
  • Strong preference for marine dealership experience
  • Luxury automotive, exotic vehicle, RV, or powersports inventory management experience highly valued
  • Experience working with high-value inventory and customer-facing dealership operations
  • Strong understanding of inventory strategy, valuation, merchandising, and inventory flow
  • Proven ability to build relationships with customers, brokers, and dealership teams
  • Experience using dealership management systems (Lightspeed preferred), CRM platforms, and inventory tools
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location operational environment
