General Description:
The Inventory Clerk - Produce is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records for fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring proper stock rotation, monitoring product quality, and supporting efficient receiving and distribution operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing shrink, maintaining freshness standards, and ensuring product availability.
Job Description:
The job will include, but not be limited to:
  • Track and maintain accurate inventory levels of all produce items
  • Perform daily cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders when required.
  • Verify produce for quality, freshness, and damage with assistance from Quality Control Department.
  • Monitor product expiration dates and ensure proper FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation
  • Record inventory adjustments due to spoilage, shrink, or damage
  • Assure with help from purchasing and warehouse teams that replenishment are taken care of
  • Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity) per product requirements
  • Prepare and generate inventory and shrink reports
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in produce, grocery, warehouse, or food distribution preferred
  • Basic understanding of produce handling and quality standards
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic math and data entry skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
