Job description

We are looking for a Director of Product Management who will be responsible for driving strategy related to Okta's trust motion, including service performance, deployments, resiliency, scale, efficiency, geographic availability, compliance, and more. This leader will own the international and US public sector, including our US Federal business, as well as our cloud service provider posture. Finally, this role also oversees Okta's Data Platform, which serves internal and external customers by providing analytics, frameworks for in product reporting, machine learning, and messaging capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure product strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals and objectives, as well as broader industry trends and market context
  • Own Okta's compliance service offerings, including international and US public sector and our US Federal business
  • Oversee Okta' Data Platform and help navigate its strategic role in providing analytics, frameworks for reporting, machine learning, messaging, and more to both internal and external customers. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing, to ensure the successful launch and adoption of infrastructure products and services
  • Develop pricing strategies and models for infrastructure products and services
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and customer needs, and use this information to inform innovation, product decisions and prioritization
  • Built and lead a high-performing product management team, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to ensure their success
  • Define and monitor metrics for cloud infrastructure products and services, including availability, performance, and utilization, and use the data to drive continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud infrastructure to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technology product management, preferably with a focus on platform product development or cloud infrastructure products and services.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and platforms, including AWS, GCP, etc.
  • You can produce solid action plans from often incomplete, conflicting or ambiguous inputs
  • Track record of owning and delivering on large strategic projects - you can see the big picture, but deliver on the details
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing, to deliver high-quality products on time and on budget.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of people management experience with a strong track record of leading teams and operating effectively as player-coach
  • Passion for Okta's huge opportunity and growth potential, and general thirst for learning with an ability to go broad and deep across business and technical contexts.

  • Experience in delivering cloud SaaS to US Federal business
  • Experience in owning internal and external large scale data systems
  • Experience in consulting, venture capital, or business strategy and/or MBA
