Job description

Director of Finance - Nonprofit
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Reports to: Executive Director
Lead the finance function for a collaborative, values-centered nonprofit with a $20M+ annual budget. As Director of Finance, you'll oversee accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning to ensure fiscal responsibility and support the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and nonprofit standards
  • Lead annual audits and manage cash flow projections
  • Present financial insights to leadership and board members
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 7-10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and nonprofit compliance
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience
  • Excellent communication and board presentation skills
