Job description

MB2 Dental has an opening for a Director of Orthodontic Operations to support our affiliated orthodontic practices across the Western region. This role serves as a strategic operational leader responsible for driving practice performance, developing office leaders, and partnering with Orthodontist owners to achieve growth, operational excellence, and exceptional patient care.

The Director of Orthodontic Operations works closely with office leadership teams, Doctor Partners, and corporate support departments to improve operational efficiency, team engagement, and financial performance across multiple locations. This position offers growth opportunities, strong leadership support, and a collaborative, team-focused environment. This is a remote position supporting the West Coast region, with approximately 50% travel required. Must be willing and able to travel regularly throughout the Western United States as needed for business and practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead an assigned portfolio of orthodontic practices, partnering with Orthodontist owners and office leadership to drive performance and growth.
  • Coach, develop, and hold office leadership teams accountable for operational, financial, and patient experience goals.
  • Analyze key business metrics, including production, collections, profitability, scheduling efficiency, and case acceptance, while implementing improvement plans.
  • Partner with support departments to improve operational efficiency, team engagement, and overall business performance.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, leadership development, and succession planning efforts.
  • Conduct practice visits and operational assessments to identify opportunities for growth and consistency.
  • Partner with Orthodontist owners and executive leadership on strategic business decisions and growth initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs, review operating results, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace training requirements, HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Partner with corporate leadership to implement scalable programs and operational best practices.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in orthodontic operations required.
  • Previous experience managing multiple orthodontic practices required.
  • Multi-site leadership experience required.
  • Multi-state operational oversight experience preferred.
  • Experience as an Orthodontic Practice Manager, Orthodontic Regional Manager, Director of Operations, or similar leadership role preferred.
  • Strong P&L management and financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% as business needs dictate.
