Job Title
Director of Enrollment Services
Job Description
The Director of Enrollment Services works in the Division of Student Services and reports directly to the Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management. The incumbent is responsible to lead the facilitation of support services to prospective and currently enrolled students with enrollment and retention resulting in graduation. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance institutional traditions and academic integrity with the individual needs of the students and faculty; understand the responsibility to act in accordance with guidelines set by the Family Education Right to Privacy Act (FERPA); and exhibit the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
Job Duties
  1. Supervise and direct personnel in the Enrollment Services Center.
  2. Serve as an Enrollment Specialist.
  3. Assist student with enrollment services processes to include Financial Aid, admissions and registration.
  4. Provide advisement services for students in matters related to their programs of study to include academic, health related and career/technical education.
  5. Effectively deal with job stress, angry callers, and upset customers in a professional and positive manner and ensure other employees in the Enrollment Services Center are doing so.
  6. Provide information services as it relates to the college offerings, university transfer information, and career pathways.
  7. Provide individual counseling for students at the Perkinston Campus and the George County Center.
  8. Receive and respond to referrals from students, faculty, staff, conduct administrators, Early Alerts, and other student support channels to ensure timely communication, intervention, and coordinated care.
  9. Make referrals to and collaborate with outside agencies and services as appropriate.
  10. Plan and implement proactive mental health, wellness, and life skills programming in residence halls- including presentations, group sessions, and panels; collaborate closely with housing staff and RAs/RHAs.
  11. Utilize the SCT Banner software, NOLIJ and other appropriate software to support office procedures as related to enrollment services.
  12. Be fluent with the required forms that pertain to the students that are identified as veterans, vocational rehabilitation, WIOA, SOC, etc.
  13. Lead a positive, professional environment with time flexibility for multi-tasking.
  14. Lead the planning and coordination of campus-wide student retention efforts.
  15. Lead the planning and coordination of campus-wide student recruitment efforts.
  16. Lead the coordination and facilitation of orientation programs.
  17. Work with the Directors of Admissions and Financial Aid with planning and facilitating orientation sessions, preregistration and registration each semester.
  18. Assist in the coordination of visits to the MGCCC Campus/Center by college, university, and/or military recruiters.
  19. Assist with the preparation of institutional reports, administration/evaluation of surveys and other Institutional Effectiveness and Research activities.
  20. Provide employee development programming (EDP) for faculty, staff, and administration on topics related to mental health, crisis response, and more.
  21. Follow counseling best practices and evidence-based interventions for student mental health, wellness, crisis, and behavioral concerns including self-harm and danger to others.
  22. Coordinate enrollment services at a college-wide (district) level.
  23. Serve as an active member of appropriate campus and college committees as appointed.
  24. Participate in regular district-wide meetings with campus LPCs, the Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management assigned to support college-wide mental health coordination, and other designated college representatives to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of mental health practices, student support procedures, and related policies.
  25. Serve In the implementation of the student Web Services and other technological programs currently utilized by the College and those planned for the future.
  26. Continuously strive to achieve/maintain the college mission, values, and goals by making a positive difference.
  27. Stay current concerning trends and policy changes related to higher education to include articulation agreements.
  28. Assist with representing the college in activities at high school and community events.
  29. Assist students with computerized career assessment tools and interpret results, when appropriate.
  30. Obtain professional update by attending conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  31. Upgrade skill level and performance through employee development.
  32. Be familiar with and abide by MGCCC Policies and Procedures Manual.
  33. Be flexible in working after hours or weekends, as needed.
  34. Make referrals for personal counseling when appropriate.
  35. Assist with assessments or tests, when appropriate.
  36. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management.

Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Master's Degree or higher in Education, Counseling, Student Personnel, or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning (must provide official transcript).
(M2) Minimum of five (5) years of student advising experience in areas such as academic, CTE, transfer, and concurrent enrollment advising, employment counseling, or student services.
(M3) Active credentials as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) for LPC and P-LPC candidates only. Must provide official documentation of credentials.
(M4) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
(M5) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
(M6) Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Professional experience working in Student Services (counseling, admissions, financial aid, student life, etc.) in a post-secondary institution.
(D2) Experience using SCT Banner Student Module.
(D3) Post graduate study beyond master's level in a related field.
(D4) Advising experience related to military, concurrent enrollment, and/or student accommodations.
