Position Overview
The Director of Digital Marketing provides strategic leadership for all digital marketing channels, platforms, and campaigns across the organization. This role is responsible for setting the digital marketing vision, managing all elements of execution, and driving enrollment growth through data-informed, performance-optimized digital strategies. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with experience managing multi-channel campaigns, content creation, and team coordination within a mission-driven, educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Organizational Leadership
• Own and drive a multi-year digital marketing strategy aligned with enrollment growth targets, brand visibility goals, and community engagement objectives
• Serve as the digital marketing authority, advising the VP and executive stakeholders on channel strategy, platform investment, and digital ROI
• Lead competitive digital landscape analysis to identify trends, benchmark performance, and differentiate the organization's online presence in the ECE sector
• Develop and manage the digital marketing budget, allocating spend across channels strategically and reporting on performance outcomes to executive leadership
• Maintain compliance with all advertising standards, privacy laws (COPPA, FERPA), and brand guidelines
• Own the BBMA digital workforce making recommendations for changes as needed to optimize results
Paid Media & Performance Marketing
• Oversee all paid digital channels including Google Ads (Search, Display, Performance Max), Meta, programmatic display, and emerging platforms - with a focus on enrollment-driving conversions
• Set campaign strategy, audience targeting, and budget allocation across paid channels; monitor performance and optimize continuously for CPA, ROAS, and lead quality
• Lead A/B testing and creative experimentation frameworks to improve ad performance and landing page conversion rates
• Ensure paid media campaigns are integrated with CRM and analytics systems for accurate attribution and full-funnel visibility
SEO, Content & Organic Digital Growth
• Define and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy - covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, local search, and content-driven authority building - to improve organic visibility and traffic
• Partner with content and communications teams to align editorial strategy with search intent, digital storytelling, and audience engagement goals
• Oversee the organization's website performance, UX standards, and digital content calendar to ensure a cohesive, conversion-optimized family experience
• Drive innovation in organic channel growth including social media, YouTube, and community-based digital engagement
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in education, family services, or early childhood settings.
• Demonstrated expertise managing and optimizing paid digital channels (Google Ads, Meta), SEO programs and CRM platforms
• Proven track record of building or scaling digital marketing functions that have driven measurable enrollment, lead generation, or revenue growth.
• Experience managing digital marketing budgets and presenting performance outcomes to executive leadership or boards.
• Proficiency in digital tools (Google Analytics, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Canva, CRM systems).
• Data interpretation and reporting skills for executive leadership.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage projects to deadlines.
