Director of Water Resources

Department: Water/Wastewater

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Compensation: $140,000 - $175,000 / year

Description

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Director of Water Resources. The position's functions will be facilitated through project work. The Director of Water Resources is also expected to perform technical tasks on projects.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
  • Signing Bonus: You will receive a one-time signing bonus of $10,000, payable within 30 days of your start date.
  • Clawback Provision: If you voluntarily resign or are terminated for cause within 12 months of your start date, you agree to repay the signing bonus in full.

  • Planning, design, and construction administration of roadway drainage systems design (LA DOTD required)

Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Serves as Waggoner’s technical lead in executing the performance of the services included in this discipline area.
    • Assists project managers and CAMs in the development of technical scope of work, budget, and schedule associated with the projects in this discipline.
    • Responsible for all aspects of the discipline and has significant management responsibilities. Additionally, you will have the following tasks;
      • To hire personnel previously approved.
      • To exercise company disciplinary policies and measures including termination with reference to personnel.
      • To perform annual performance reviews of staff.
    • Ensures client quality expectations are met.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems.
  • Mentors and develops Waggoner staff in the various skill sets necessary to execute the various service areas within this discipline.
  • Facilitates the growth and development of the discipline at Waggoner.
    • Remains abreast of the trends and opportunities impacting the various service areas.
    • Determines equipment, software, information, communications, etc., needed for the discipline.
    • Identifies and develops project opportunities for new work and/or expanded services for new and established clients for this discipline.
    • Works closely with Business Development and Marketing staff to pursue business in the discipline area.
    • Develops marketing and sales plans related to this discipline.
    • Assists in meeting company marketing and sales plan goals especially as they relate to discipline.
    • Works closely with the Management Team and PMs and CAMs related to discipline area services for their projects and pursuits.
    • Develops proposal strategies for opportunities in this discipline that utilize Company’s strengths and innovative thinking to gain a competitive advantage.
What you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree or equivalent is desired.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience.
    • Five years of direct client interaction and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
    • Five years supervisory experience
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana is a requirement, or ability to gain licensure within 4 months of hire
