Job Description:
Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and oversee our Gulf Coast region, with central hub in Baton Rouge, LA. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring project execution efficiency, and aligning regional performance with company strategic objectives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and maintaining a $10M+ book of business. This position requires the ability to work in person at Orbital and customer sites and includes travel throughout the Gulf Coast region.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
  • Business Development: Collaborate with Senior Vice President of Engineering and other business unit leads across the company to grow the business as guided by the strategic plan. Maintain and contribute to business development pipeline including up-selling Orbital services into existing clients. Serve as key account manager as needed including promoting and representing Orbital to external stakeholders. Lead and review proposals and marketing materials. Provide initial review comments of contracts for final review and comment by legal team.
  • Project Management: Provide oversight on portfolios of projects, ensuring delivery on scope, on budget, on quality and on schedule. Deliver expected financial results for the Gulf Coast region.
  • Leadership: Support recruiting, onboarding, learning and development and engagement of the professionals and staff within the region and practice areas including planning and organizing events. Ensure compliance with all company and customer policies and procedures. Manage personnel within the region with responsibility for resolving issues in coordination with HR and senior leadership as needed.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school with a minimum of 20 years experience in related industries.

  • Significant experience in design and project management with consulting firms with 8 or more years in a supervisory capacity.

  • Exceptional business acumen and customer relationship management skills as well as excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.

  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check required.

Salary Range:
$225,000 - $300,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
