Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a Director of Operations to provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management for the company's corporate operations team. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, this role is responsible for leading the centralized operational functions that support the company's branch network through inventory management, operational analytics, logistics initiatives, process improvement, and enterprise operational projects.

The Director of Operations will partner closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations to execute strategic initiatives, develop scalable operational processes, and ensure the corporate operations team effectively supports the organization's operational objectives. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and providing the systems, resources, and support necessary to strengthen company-wide performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the corporate operations team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish departmental priorities, workflows, performance expectations, and key performance indicators for the corporate operations team.
  • Partner with the Senior Vice President of Operations to develop and execute operational strategies that support company growth and improve organizational performance.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the corporate operations team responsible for inventory management, operational analytics, logistics initiatives, process improvement, systems implementation, and enterprise operational support.
  • Lead enterprise operational initiatives, process improvements, and system implementations that enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize operational processes, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
  • Analyze operational performance data and identify opportunities to improve inventory management, supply chain performance, operational efficiency, and customer service.
  • Oversee enterprise inventory management strategies to improve inventory turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and optimize working capital.
  • Support freight optimization, logistics planning, and transportation initiatives that improve service levels and reduce operational costs.
  • Utilize ERP systems and business intelligence tools to analyze inventory performance, operational metrics, and organizational trends.
  • Develop and present operational reports, dashboards, and recommendations to the Senior Vice President of Operations and executive leadership.
  • Allocate departmental resources and establish priorities to support corporate operations initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Finance, IT, Logistics, and other corporate departments to support cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and applicable safety standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, operational technologies, ERP capabilities, and supply chain best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, or distribution management.
  • Experience leading corporate operations, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, or business process improvement initiatives within a distribution or wholesale environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, transportation, and operational best practices.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, inventory management software, and business intelligence tools to support operational decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, implement organizational change, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required infrequently.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs.
