The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the development and implementation of Novant Health's strategy for making access to medications convenient and affordable with personalized medication management to optimize health consistent with the health system's mission, vision, goals, and values. Collaborates with organizational leaders and manages interdependencies across divisions to design and provide pharmacy services. Engages team members, promotes the highest clinical quality and operational efficiency for our patients. Leads teams providing best in class care and serves as an industry leader in innovation. Assures that Novant Health pharmacies meet patient safety, quality and affordability needs. Oversight and accountability for pharmacy services to include executing clinical, financial, programmatic and quality initiatives in primary setting of care; identifies, develops and implements opportunities for expansion of services; supports and facilitates continuous quality improvement for pharmacy programming; manages human resources including development of team members.

What We're Looking For
  • Education: Graduate Degree, required. PharmD, preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 4 years of experience leading system initiatives and service lines in an ACUTE health care setting, required.
    • PGY1 residency or 2 years equivalent postgraduate experience in patient care, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice pharmacy in the applicable state(s) and in good standing with the board of Pharmacy(ies), required.
  • Additional Skills Required:
    • Master's Degree in Science/Healthcare/Business Administration/Public Health or eligible to complete within 2 years of hire -- Required Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency assessment.
    • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to work well with a variety of professionals and to work independently. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong critical thinking and problem skills.
    • Strong relationship and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other health care professionals and lead change. Possesses consulting skills. Is team-oriented, supportive, and cooperative.
    • Ability to continuously re-prioritize, demonstrates flexibility, and processes multiple issues simultaneously. Fosters an environment that supports and respects diversity. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
