JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Network Services is a senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, design, operations, and continuous improvement of the enterprise network infrastructure. This role oversees a team of network engineers and architects supportingdata centers, critical facility locations (including hospitals and campus environments), and application networking services. The ideal candidate combines deep technicalexpertisein networking with strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Infrastructure & Operations

  • Lead the planning, design, deployment, and management of enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and data center network infrastructure across all environments, including critical healthcare and corporate facilities.

  • Oversee thephysical infrastructure(cabling, switches, routers, wireless access points, rack management) as well assoftware-defined networking, configuration management, and automation.

  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities across all network services, with particular focus on mission-critical locations.

Network Security & Application Networking

  • Manage network security devices and services includingfirewalls, load balancers, web application firewalls (WAFs), proxies, NAC, DDoS mitigation, and micro-segmentation.

  • Overseeapplication-specific networkingincluding traffic optimization, application delivery controllers (ADCs), DNS/DHCP/IPAM services, and content delivery.

  • Partner closely with Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) to ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, PCI-DSS).

Leadership & Communication

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing network engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

  • Serve as theprimary communicator and escalation pointfor network-related matters to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Drive vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and technology roadmap decisions for network services.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and execute the network technology roadmap aligned with enterprise cloud transformation, modernization, and growth initiatives.

  • Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics to measure network performance, availability, and team effectiveness.

  • Identifyand implement opportunities forautomation, process improvement, and cost optimizationacross the network portfolio.

  • Lead capacity planning and lifecycle management to stay ahead of business demand.


EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 10 years in Information Systems or Information Technology
  • 10 years of developing, presenting, and communicating technical concepts to varying audiences
  • 7 years in a management or leadership role
  • 7 years mentoring others in a Leadership role
  • 5 years of developing strategic plans & roadmaps


Preferred

  • 5 years in the Healthcare Industry
  • 3 years in a leadership role executing technical capabilities that deliver significant business value
  • 3 years in project management with multiple major development projects, demonstrating leadership skills and a track record of managing technical/business staff, financial resources and outside vendors
