Job description

Director, FIG Media — Functional Responsibilities

1. Media Strategy Development

  • Develop integrated media strategies across television, radio, podcast, public relations/earned media, YouTube, connected TV, and book publishing.
  • Work with FIG Advisor Marketing Team to translate business objectives and marketing goals into cohesive cross-channel media plans.
  • Identify and work with preferred partners for ideal channel mixes based on target audiences, campaign goals, budgets, and competitive landscapes.
  • Ensure all strategies align with industry positioning, client expectations, and brand direction.

2. Media Offering & Product Design

  • Build and refine FIG’s media service offerings, including new products, bundles, tiered packages, and proprietary approaches.
  • Evaluate new media channels, technologies, and partnerships to keep offerings competitive and innovative.
  • Standardize FIG’s media frameworks, methodologies, templates, and strategic tools.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital, and analytics teams to ensure media offerings integrate seamlessly with FIG Advisor Marketing and Financial Independence Group’s capabilities.

3. Vendor & Partner Management

  • Identify, vet, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors across all traditional and emerging media channels (TV networks, radio groups, podcast networks, YouTube partners, PR firms, publishing partners, etc.).
  • Maintain an updated roster of preferred vendors, pricing models, rate cards, and performance histories.
  • Coordinate contract negotiation, renewals, and ongoing vendor evaluation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations, new opportunities, and partnership expansions.

4. Campaign Architecture & Planning Support

  • Provide strategic guidance and direction for media plans.
  • Develop high-level campaign frameworks, channel logic, messaging flow, and performance KPIs.
  • Support FIG Advisor Marketing team’s in pitching, scoping, and onboarding new clients through strategic insights and media rationale.
  • Oversee integration of media plans with creative assets, messaging timelines, and PR strategies.

5. Cross-Channel Alignment & Coordination

  • Ensure messaging, timing, and audience strategy are aligned across channels such as broadcast, digital video, PR, podcast, connected TV, and publishing.
  • Act as the connective tissue across internal departments to ensure media strategy supports client goals holistically.
  • Partner with analytics teams to make sure tracking, attribution, and reporting align with strategic intent.

6. Insights, Research & Performance Improvement

  • Work with preferred partners on competitive research, category analysis, audience insight development, and channel opportunity reports.
  • Analyze campaign results to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Translate data into strategy adjustments, improved vendor selection, and future offering enhancements.
  • Stay ahead of trends in broadcast, streaming, digital video, influencer, PR integration, and publishing.

7. Internal Enablement & Thought Leadership

  • Provide internal teams with training, playbooks, and strategic guidance on media channels and industry trends (in partnership with FIG’s Advisor Marketing Team/Content and Creative).
  • Serve as a go-to internal expert on media best practices, channel evolution, ratings trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Contribute to FIG thought leadership through blogs, webinars, presentations, or POVs on evolving media landscapes.

8. Revenue Contribution & Proposal Support

  • Support new business pitches by creating high-impact media strategies, channel recommendations, and pricing logic.
  • Work with FIG Advisor Marketing and Sales teams to properly scope media engagements, define deliverables, and estimate budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to package or upsell cross-channel solutions that drive revenue growth.

9. Quality Control & Brand Consistency

  • Review and approve high-level media plans and strategic recommendations before client delivery.
  • Work with FIG Advisor Marketing Team/Content and Creative to ensure all media strategies are aligned with brand tone, messaging, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain consistency across channel plans, vendor relationships, and client deliverables.
