POSITION INFORMATION:
 

Supervisor: Title I Director of Instruction & Building Principal Location: Elementary School Employment Period: 10-months Employment Status: Full-time Funding Source: This position is grant funded Start Date: August 2026 Salary:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $58,500 (Step 0, Bachelor's) to $101,105 (Step 30+, Doctorate) based on the approved 2026-2027 school year salary scale. Please review the Teacher Scale to see where your specific education level and verified years of experience place you. Final salary placement is determined strictly by verified years of creditable experience.
 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Position is responsible for instructing elementary school students in the area of math through groups or targeted support to enable them to meet challenging State academic standards.  Position supports the teacher's implementation of the mathematics curriculum. This position works collaboratively within a Professional Learning Communities model to expand student development of appropriate skills, knowledge, and interests in math.
 

  • Instructs elementary school students through math groups in accordance with division expectations.
  • Supports Collaborative Learning Teams in the implementation of ongoing assessment, data collection, and data analysis to support students' mastery of standards.
  • Completes all requirements as a school division Title I, Part A teacher.
  • Develops and delivers lesson plans appropriate to the needs and abilities of assigned students.
  • Meets the needs of identified students through a variety of co-teaching models and small group instruction.
  • Uses a variety of instructional techniques and math materials appropriate for the age and skill level of students.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and creates a safe, orderly and effective environment for learning.
  • Participates in conferences as requested to report student progress.
  • Assists with the screening and evaluation of students in math.
  • Collaborates with others to identify instructional needs and develop and deliver professional development.
  • Provides documentation for Student Intervention Team and child study process as needed.
  • Maintains thorough records for assigned students.
  • Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Analyzes SOL, benchmark, and common assessment data to establish goals and monitor intervention.
  • Attend staff development and other professional activities.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Title I Director of Instruction or Principal.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license at the elementary level.
  • At least 3 years successful experience at the elementary level required.
  • Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the needs of students requiring additional support in the areas of math.
  • Ability to instruct students in remedial math.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and school administrators.
