Job Description
Takeda is seeking a data oriented, analytical, passionate, self-starter and self-motivated individual to join our Data Digital and Technology organization at our Cambridge HQ. This role sits within the OBU & USBU DD&T organization and will report to the Head of Data and Insights Engine. This role will be accountable for leading all Master Data Management activities across this new, integrated organization.
This Associate Director position is integral to the data, digital and technology transformation occurring in the OBU to harness the power of data analytics and improve patient outcomes. This person mainly will be responsible for maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, anticipating business requirements across commercial, medical and patient value & access functions, leveraging deep understanding of commercial processes, MDM, Data Governance technologies and ability to identify data management gaps to create a vision for business impact.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • As lead of MDM integrations, build hands-on designs & deliver solutions ensuring well-coordinated technical delivery aligned to product-defined priorities and business outcomes
  • Integrate agentic and generative AI into Master Data Management to enhance data stewardship, automate matching and enrichment, enable conversational data discovery and issue resolution, and advancing AI-ready MDM capabilities.
  • Optimize MDM integrations performance and high-throughput data access by leveraging appropriate data management methodologies.
  • Drive complex data transformations and proactively triage issues to eliminate defects and prevent production incidents.
  • Lead all activities for master data management, data enrichment, customer data stewardship and data governance across all USBU and OBU business functions.
  • Define, manage, and optimize master data management, data enrichment, and data quality capability roadmap and oversee the delivery of all the work.
  • Manage external vendor(s) that providers services for MDM, Data Governance and Stewardship operations across contracting, project / performance management and RFP/ I processes.
  • Facilitate resolution of data management and data quality issues related to conflicting data ownership, data and rule definition, data availability, and data usage.
  • Participate in Data Governance council meetings to address queries and understand upcoming features/data assets.
  • Ensure expected timelines and milestones are clearly indicated, leads communication, and escalates issues to stakeholders.
  • Partner and drive collaboration with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Patient Value & Access, Medical, etc.) and within DD&T to capture key business questions and define KPIs.
  • Lead the interaction with end users to gather business requirements / metrics and communicate value of the MDM, Data Governance and Data Stewardship initiatives.
  • Monitoring overall USBU and OBU DD&T ways of working to drive productivity and predictability in operating rhythms.

EDUCATIONAL, BEHAVIORIAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
  • 8 - 10 years in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industries building out medical, marketing, and commercial IT cloud-based solutions & services
  • 5+ years managing a team of direct report (s) preferred
  • Experience in pharmaceutical healthcare and/or pharma healthcare consulting industry with focus on MDM, data management or analytics working with commercial data sets.
  • Must have experience in commercial pharma data management, data warehousing, master data management, data governance, reporting or analytics
  • Must have experience and deep understanding of different types of syndicated commercial pharma datasets across Claims, Retail Sales, Non-retail Sales, Trade data, Specialty Pharmacy (SP/SD), Hub, Formulary, Co-pay, Prescriber-Plan data, EMR/EHR, Diagnostic data, Shipment, Inventory, Non-personal Promotion data, Speaker Programs, Email Campaigns, Digital Data (HCP Portal, Patient Portal, Brand websites, Third-party website), Conferences etc
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and in-person presentation skills in a persuasive and appropriate manner. Ability to frequently communicate changes and indentations with high level of transparency to all stakeholders
  • Must be capable and will have the authority to make business, including organizational change management, governance and process decisions in OBU function after consulting and alignment with key stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically about key business questions, insights and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact
  • Proven ability to work within a cross regional, functional, multicultural, and virtual context (matrix organization)
  • Able to handle a complex environment of constant change, proven success in a highly matrix-ed, fast paced, and challenging business environment.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$154,400.00 - $242,550.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
