Job Description Summary

The Director, Master Data Operations and Services is responsible for leading Breakthru Beverage Group’s enterprise Master Data Management function, ensuring accurate, governed, and reliable Customer, Vendor, and Material data across the organization. This role oversees day-to-day master data operations while driving standardized processes, data quality, governance controls, and scalable SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) capabilities. The Director leads a distributed team of data professionals and partners closely with IT, Data Governance, and business leaders to ensure master data effectively supports core business processes, regulatory compliance, analytics, and enterprise initiatives. The position balances operational excellence with continuous improvement, strengthening master data as a foundational capability that enables business performance and future digital growth.

Job Description

This role follows a flexible hybrid schedule, with two days per week in the office and three days working from home. This role can be performed from any Breakthru Beverage Office Location.

Job Responsibilities
  • Master Data Operations & Service Delivery Lead daily SAP master data operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant creation, maintenance, and updates.
  • Own and prioritize master data intake, balancing operational demand with urgent business needs, onboarding activities, project milestones, and product launches.
  • Define, document, and continuously improve standardized master data processes focused on efficiency, quality, accuracy, and service.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex master data issues involving SAP data elements, hierarchies, workflows, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Review and validate master data loads to ensure completeness, adherence to standards, and consistency across systems.
  • Establish and monitor operational metrics, service levels, and performance targets; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee and optimize master data tools and technologies, including SAP, SAP MDG, SAP Fiori, Salsify (PIM), Winshuttle, RPA, and Agentic AI solutions.
  • Partner with IT to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data flows, integrations, and system performance.
SAP MDG Leadership
  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) capabilities.
  • Define and enforce governance workflows, approval structures, and data quality controls across master data domains.
  • Ensure master data models and governance processes align with enterprise architecture standards and downstream system requirements.

  • Oversee post-implementation stabilization and long-term scalability of MDG capabilities.
Data Quality & Governance
  • Establish and enforce enterprise master data standards, governance policies, and operating procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with the Data Governance team to align master data standards, workflows, and controls, ensuring consistent execution across regions and markets.
  • Maintain centralized master data documentation, including data dictionaries, business rules, and process artifacts.
  • Support training and enablement of business stakeholders on master data standards and governance roles.
Team & Resource Management
  • Lead, develop, and scale a distributed team of employees, contractors, and service providers.
  • Align resources to business priorities while maintaining service levels and operational resilience.
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and performance management within the function.
Innovation & Strategic Enablement
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and modernize master data processes through technology and emerging solutions.
  • Contribute to enterprise data and IT roadmap discussions to ensure master data capabilities support future growth, S/4HANA readiness, analytics, and AI initiatives.
  • Promote scalable practices that position master data as a strategic business asset.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of Master Data Management experience, with deep SAP Master Data expertise in large, complex environments.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing internal teams and/or external service providers.
  • Experience leading large SAP MDG implementations.
  • Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems and product data workflows.
  • Working knowledge of eCommerce platforms and product catalog integrations.
  • Proven ability to define standardized data processes, governance frameworks, metrics, and SLAs.
  • Strong understanding of ERP, PIM, and downstream integrations (APIs, middleware, batch processing).
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented leader with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Excellent prioritization, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strategic thinking, conceptual problem-solving, and adaptability.
  • People management responsibility for reviews, performance management, training, and resource planning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Knowledge of product taxonomy, attribute modeling, and product lifecycle management.
  • Background in manufacturing, retail, distribution, or eCommerce-driven organizations.
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement certification.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, and prior relevant experience.
