POSITION SUMMARY

The Lean Services Manager leads Lean implementation on large and complex construction projects by facilitating Lean planning, training and coaching project teams, and supporting continuous improvement across the project lifecycle. This role leads high-complexity facilitation, partnering, and alignment efforts, supports consistent application of Lean standards, and contributes to improvement of Lean Edge tools and practices. The Lean Services Manager works across multiple projects and supports teams and project-level Lean Champions in sustaining effective Lean behaviors.

  • Leads Lean implementation, collaborative planning, coaching, and continuous improvement activities on large or complex construction projects, including multi-team environments.
  • Coaches teams to sustain effective planning practices throughout project execution.
  • Coaches Lean Services Associates and Senior Lean Services Associates on advanced facilitation techniques.
  • Delivers advanced Lean and Last Planner System training.
  • Coaches Lean mentors on effective training delivery and application.
  • Coaches project teams on complex planning behaviors and system reliability.
  • Supports consistent coaching standards across projects.
  • Facilitates complex retrospectives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Leads field-focused continuous improvement initiatives based on project learning.
  • Independently facilitates partnering, Collaborative Design Sessions, and alignment sessions.
  • Coaches teams and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and shared expectations.
  • Leads updates to Lean Edge tools, templates, and training materials.
  • Actively supports and leads Lean initiatives to improve field execution and program effectiveness
  • Contributes to the development of Lean program content and supports knowledge sharing through internal forums and selected industry events.
  • Manages direct reports as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by their Supervisor.
  • Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
  • Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field and 5-10 years of experience implementing Lean practices on construction projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be will be willing to travel to project locations anywhere across North America for extended periods of time (up to 85%).

    • Experience leading Lean delivery across multiple complex or large-scale projects is required.
    • Experience supporting organization-wide Lean consistency and improvement initiatives is required.
    • Advanced understanding of Lean philosophy, Last Planner System purpose, and CPM/Last Planner System integration is required.
    • Advanced familiarity with Touchplan or other Last Planner System management tools is required.
