Position Summary
FULL TIME ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR - INTAKE - 6A - 2P (Baton Rouge, LA 70816) supports timely, accurate psychiatric admissions by coordinating intake documentation, eligibility review, and admission readiness.
Key responsibilities include managing intake inquiries and forms; reviewing referral packets for admission criteria; maintaining intake logs and QAPI intake data; coordinating admission-related communication with physicians and the Director of Nursing; preparing new-admit documentation (face sheets/demographics, episodes of care, insurance details) and assembling patient charts; and completing insurance verification once a physician accepts the patient.
Qualifications/skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to work with minimal supervision; organized and self-disciplined
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- 2-3 years psychiatric admissions experience preferred (not required); LPN preferred (not required)
