If you are based in the Indianapolis area, this position follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office attendance required Tuesday through Thursday. We also welcome remote candidates, who will work from home and travel to Indianapolis periodically as needed.
The Director, Infrastructure Services is responsible for leading and evolving Bell Techlogix's Cloud and Infrastructure Services engineering organization, ensuring strong operational delivery today while driving the transition to a more automated, platform-driven, and AI-enabled model for the future.
This role is accountable for the stability, reliability, scalability, and performance of current infrastructure services across cloud, network, endpoint, and hybrid environments, while progressively introducing automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, standardization, and AI-assisted operations to improve efficiency, consistency, and margins.
The Director partners closely with Service Delivery, Architecture, Sales, and executive leadership to ensure services are delivered effectively today and continuously improved through engineering innovation and platform capabilities over time.
Essential Functions:
Operational Leadership & Service Stability:
  • Ensure reliable engineering support for infrastructure services across cloud, network, endpoint, and hybrid environments.
  • Partner with Service Delivery to maintain SLA performance, incident response effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and determining areas for account growth within Cloud and Infrastructure Services
  • Provide leadership for escalations, complex issues, and critical customer environments.
  • Oversee the engineering aspects of network, server, storage, cloud, and disaster recovery environments to ensure availability, resilience, and operational continuity.
  • Lead infrastructure-related projects from planning through execution, coordinating across teams to ensure successful delivery and long-term operational support.

Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering organization.
  • Manage team performance, professional development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Align team priorities and engineering strategies with Bell Techlogix business goals and client needs.

Platform Engineering, Automation, and Standardization:
  • Develop and implement networking, automation frameworks and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to improve deployment speed, scalability, and consistency.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation and standardized engineering patterns.
  • Improve consistency in monitoring, provisioning, patching, endpoint management, and infrastructure operations.
  • Establish reusable engineering approaches that can be applied across customers while balancing client-specific requirements.

AI & AIOps Enablement:
  • Introduce AIOps capabilities to improve monitoring, alerting, incident response, and operational visibility.
  • Implement practical AI-assisted workflows that enhance service reliability and engineering productivity.
  • Identify and evaluate high-impact use cases for AI within infrastructure services.
  • Ensure AI adoption is incremental, business-aligned, and focused on measurable operational value.

Sales, Customer, and Business Support:
  • Support Sales and Solution Architecture teams on late-stage and well-defined opportunities by providing technical validation and scalable design input.
  • Help define a structured model for CIS engagement in sales pursuits to ensure engineering involvement is targeted and does not disrupt delivery performance.
  • Build capabilities within infrastructure services that support account growth, customer retention, and strategic expansion.
  • Identify and articulate business value opportunities that improve customer outcomes and strengthen Bell Techlogix's market position.

Security, Compliance, and Risk Management:
  • Ensure infrastructure engineering practices align with relevant security protocols, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Support regular audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities as needed.
  • Leverage automation and intelligent operational tools to enhance monitoring, response, and risk reduction.

Financial, Vendor, and Operational Management:
  • Manage financial and operational metrics for the service line.
  • Support budget planning, vendor management, and technology evaluation activities.
  • Assess new technologies, automation capabilities, and AI-enabled tools that can improve infrastructure operations and cost efficiency.
  • Identify operational efficiencies that improve utilization, margins, and service delivery effectiveness.

Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience leading high-performing technical delivery teams in an IT Managed Services environment.
  • Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure strategy, server, storage, network, cloud and operations.
  • Experience designing, building, and managing cloud, network, or endpoint services for large enterprises.
  • Strong knowledge of network and server technologies, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Experience implementing automation to drive operational efficiencies in infrastructure or network operations.
  • Experience implementing intelligent monitoring, AIOps capabilities, or AI-enabled operational tools to improve operational performance.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, problem-solving, and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance operational accountability with continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, PMP, TOGAF Enterprise Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Experience with hybrid SD-WAN, network modernization, or related transformation initiatives.
  • Experience assessing or implementing AI-enabled tools for monitoring, incident detection, predictive analytics, or operational optimization.
