The Executive Director of Civil Rights & Title IX serves as Utah State University’s senior leader for civil rights and Title IX compliance and the university’s Title IX Coordinator. The Executive Director provides university-wide leadership to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state civil rights and nondiscrimination laws and university policies and to promote fair, consistent, timely, and impartial processes across USU’s statewide system.
The Executive Director leads the Civil Rights & Title IX Office and oversees the university’s response to reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and other conduct within the office’s jurisdiction. The Executive Director provides strategic guidance to university leadership, monitors emerging legal and regulatory requirements, identifies patterns and institutional risks, and ensures appropriate policies, procedures, education and training, prevention, case management, monitoring and reporting systems are in place.
Working collaboratively with university leadership, Legal Affairs, Human Resources, Student Success, Public Safety, faculty and staff leaders, and other campus partners, the Executive Director promotes a culture of compliance, fairness, accountability, respect, and confidence in the university’s civil rights processes.
