Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Services Director will provide strategic oversight to three functional areas of human resources: Employee Compensation, Labor Relations, and Employee and Organizational Development (EOD).Â
The HR Services Director will:Â
- Provide direction and leadership to the Compensation, Labor Relations, and Employee and Organizational Development units within the HR division.Â
- Provide strategic guidance and consultation to University constituents regarding human resources best practices, policy interpretation, problem resolution, and compliance with university regulations and state and federal law.Â
- Anticipate, establish, and implement short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures.Â
- Design, implement and evaluate programs, services, and initiatives that are responsive to the needs, goals, and objectives of the university, to include strategic plans, policies and operating procedures.Â
- Monitor program efficiency; develop reporting procedures and other methods to establish program accountability and measure success; revise processes and procedures to reflect current approaches to human resource management and to improve program effectiveness.Â
- Direct and oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.Â
- Develop and implement operating budgets, systems and procedures for the units of oversight.Â
- Represent the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees and task forces; promote existing and new programs and/or policies.Â
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Â
Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract, which will be subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.Â
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Â
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Â
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced knowledge of current principles of human resource management and public personnel practices.Â
- Knowledge of equal opportunity and affirmative action programs.Â
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, and public sector employment policies and procedures.Â
- An ability to foster a cooperative work environment.Â
- An ability to develop policy and procedure documentation.Â
- Employee development and performance management skills.Â
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze, summarize and effectively present data.Â
- An ability to examine and evaluate operations and develop and/or re-engineer operating strategies, systems and procedures.Â
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- HR Management experience within a large, complex organization, to include experience in employee compensation, labor relations, and employee and organizational development.
COMPENSATION:Â $101k. This is a benefits eligible position.
