Position is hybrid if living in the DMV, remote if not living in the DMV.
On-site days are Mondays and Wednesdays in Alexandria, VA. Additional on-site days may occasionally be required for quarterly Company Collaboration Days and for client and team meetings.
We are currently seeking a seasoned communications professional for the position of Director.
Our ideal new team member would have:
  • 10-12 years of experience including agency (required) with focus on healthcare, pharmaceuticals/medical device, digital health, diagnostics or patient advocacy communications. Experience in health equity and reaching underserved populations is a plus.

Proven track record and ability to:
  • Partner with agency leadership to develop and manage client engagements including planning, creative concepts, day to day execution, evaluation, staffing, budgets and timelines
  • Distill complex scientific data into actionable messages for key audiences (HCPs, media, influencers, patients/caregivers)
  • Write and promote scientific data releases around clinical studies, guidelines and FDA/EMEA/CMS milestones
  • Offer clients a deep understanding of overall healthcare media, patient advocacy and influencer landscape
  • Leverage key healthcare milestones including presentations at medical congresses/scientific sessions and peer-review journal publications to trade and national consumer media
  • Create healthcare focused patient education campaigns as well as initiatives focused on reaching healthcare providers to influence clinical decision making and referral pathways
  • Showcase understanding of the healthcare landscape and regulations to inform social media content and digital activations including branded and unbranded initiatives, guidelines for pre-approved products and proper use of disclosures
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills including content development such as bylines, Op/Eds, video scripts, PSAs
  • Manage client programs, timelines, team deliverables, budgets and quarterly planning to exceed client expectations and goals.
