Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in investigations.
  • 4 years of experience directly conducting security investigations regarding threats, risks, or other potential security issues.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Certification and training (e.g. CFE, PCI, CFI, WZ interview training).
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, Legal, Audit) and managing vendors to effectively resolve investigations.
  • Experience in incident management, data analysis, and conducting investigations (e.g., workplace violence, financial crimes, insider threats, intellectual property).

About the job
As part of the Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) organization, the Security Investigations and Assessments (SIA) team aims to protect Google's people, property, and information through proactive risk mitigation, objective investigations and assessments, expert advisory service, and data-driven insights. We conduct thorough investigations into potential security violations and policy breaches, analyze threats to identify vulnerabilities, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to provide expert guidance on security best practices.
As a Global Investigator on the Security Investigations and Assessments team, you will conduct fact-finding investigations and assessments to ensure Google's safety. Partnering cross-functionally across the organization, you will navigate a broad range of issues from policy breaches and leaks of company information to fraud and organized criminal activity. You will deliver holistic outcomes, including objective, evidence-based findings and recommendations to prevent, detect, deter, and disrupt future issues.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $105000 - $152000 (USD) 15% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Resolve investigations and assessments involving potential violations of company policies, code of conduct, and business conditions.
  • Manage crises and deliver threat assessment services by collecting, evaluating, and disseminating accurate intelligence to execute appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and audit process deficiencies that allow inappropriate business conduct, autonomously proposing and implementing continuous improvements to security protocols.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with domestic and international law enforcement, government counterparts, and private sector peers.
  • Lead the use of data analysis and AI tools to generate insights, enhance investigative capabilities, and increase operational efficiency.
