Position Summary

The SEO/GEO Director works with the account team to provide research, strategy, implementation, campaign management, and report on client campaigns. They plan, consult on and implement SEO/GEO best practices for a client base spanning multiple industries and verticals. Furthermore, they stay up to date on the latest search engine and AI updates and apply knowledge and experience of marketing strategy and search engine marketing concepts. The SEO/GEO Director will also lead a team of SEO Strategists and Specialists.

Key Objectives of the role:

  • Develop and execute search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) strategies and performance analysis
  • Create and manage strategies for clients while working with client teams, account management and SEO team members

What You'll Do

  • Planning and Management of Client Programs
    • Provide strategic leadership to the SEO subject matter experts on your team, in developing and implementing plan objectives
    • Develop SEO/GEO goals based on the client's goals and objectives
    • Perform research to gain a better understanding of target audience, brand, category, and competitive landscape
    • Keyword and topical/thematic research to identify content gaps and opportunities for new and existing programs
    • Carry out full SEO/GEO audits as required with recommendations for programs including:
      • URL structure
      • Navigation Structure
      • Canonicalization Issues
      • Contextual links/interlinking
      • AI-readiness
      • HTML & XML sitemaps
      • Robots.text
      • Title, Header, Image, Keyword, and Description Tags
      • Social SEO recommendations
    • Recommend on-page and off-page optimization based on research and program goals
    • Errors and issues are troubleshot and resolved in a timely manner or escalated as necessary
    • Report on program status to Account and/or client team
    • Support Account team on client calls with subject matter information
  • Optimization
    • Ensure that all websites and internet properties under your influence have been technically optimized to attract and engage those visitors that closely match the agreed profile of the target audience, and are appropriately set up to gain visibility from LLMs
    • Working in combination with our content strategy team, suggest content improvements with a view to improving SEO and GEO traction
  • Analysis
    • Monitor key metrics using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Authoritas, SEOclarity, and others) to assess opportunities and issues
  • Industry Knowledge
    • Keep updated on search marketing industry by researching, networking, reading blogs, forums, and new sources
    • Share knowledge of SEO/GEO practices into the business via team shares and company-level thought leadership to assist in the development and recommendation of new SEO strategies
    • Demonstrate knowledge of SEO tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Webmaster tools, Bright Edge, SEOMOZ tools, Advanced Web Ranking, etc.)

Preferred Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of online marketing experience in a lead SEO role, preferably in an agency environment
  • In-depth understanding of the search engine ranking and LLM citation process
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS, and web standards. ASP.NET knowledge is a plus
  • Highly organized and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Deep experience in all elements of modern SEO/GEO
  • Ability to work in a team and cross-team environment
  • Proven track record of improving search rankings through application of SEO best practices
  • Experience of writing and evaluating copy for SEO purposes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SEO tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Webmaster tools, Bright Edge, SEOMOZ tools, Advanced Web Ranking, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of online marking metrics
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience using analytics to identify issues and opportunities

Salary at DAC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $135,000 to $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DAC's total compensation package for employees.
