Job description

Are you interested in launching new and innovative products to the market? Changing the food and beverage industry? At DreamPak, we aspire to bring liquid food and beverage innovations to the market and make consumers lives more efficient, simple and enjoyable. We have stayed true to the idea that liquid concentrates represent the future of the beverage and dietary supplement world. This singular focus has allowed us to expand from a single product contract manufacturing shop into a technology and innovation driven, vertically integrated company serving a wide range of markets and categories. We're looking for the best and brightest to take our company to the next level.

Due to growth, it has created a need for a Batching/Processing Supervisor bridges the gap between R&D formulation and high-volume production. This role provides hands-on leadership for all batching, pre-weighing, and powder blending operations, specifically focusing on cheese sauces and dairy-based liquids. You will ensure that every batch meets precise technical specifications, food safety standards (SQF), and efficiency targets while managing a high-performing frontline team.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Operations & Execution

  • Formulation Integrity: Oversee the accurate execution of complex recipes, ensuring precise ingredient sequencing, hydration, and dispersion of powders/emulsifiers.
  • Production Synchronization: Coordinate batching cycles to maintain a continuous flow for pouch-filling lines, minimizing "dry" time and maximizing throughput.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for process deviations (e.g., viscosity issues, pH, emulsion breaks, or temperature fluctuations).

Process Control & Thermal Processing

  • Equipment Mastery: Maintain operational control over high-shear mixers, kettles, scraped surface heat exchangers (SSHE), and hot-fill systems.
  • Critical Control Points (CCPs): Direct oversight of thermal lethality processes, ensuring all CCPs are monitored, documented, and validated per the HACCP plan.
  • Sanitation & CIP: Own the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process; verify cycle effectiveness to prevent allergen cross-contact and microbial risks.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 3+ years in food manufacturing; 1+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Specialization: High preference for experience in dairy, sauces, or hot fill/aseptic environments, is preferred.
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related technical field is required; or equivalent high-level industrial experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Process Knowledge: Expert understanding of thermal processing, powder-to-liquid blending, and emulsion stability.
  • Systems: Proficiency in ERP/Batching software and automated CIP systems.
  • Regulatory: HACCP and PCQI certifications are a significant plus.

OTHER DUTIES:

Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of all products manufactured and handled by DreamPak, and the employee is required to follow all SQF, GMP, and regulatory requirements relevant to their role. Furthermore, the individual in this role has the authority to report any food safety or quality concerns to the SQF Practitioner or a member of management; in the event of a potential food safety risk, this position has the authority to stop production or place products on hold until the issue is resolved. In the absence of the Processing Supervisor, the Lead Production Operator for processing is responsible for fulfilling the food safety and quality duties associated with this position.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Someone who values accuracy over speed, but can balance both
  • A dependable team player who takes ownership of their responsibilities
  • Someone with a hunger for driving efficiency and improving processes

WHY JOIN US?

  • Stable and growing food & beverage manufacturing business
  • Fun-loving, collaborative, and supportive team environment
  • Competitive compensation and benefits including paid holidays, 401(k) match, performance-based year-end bonus, and much more!
