Description
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accountant with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are required.
This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the evaluation and set up of leases
  • Responsible for monthly journal entries related to lease and PP&E activity
  • Interface with field accounting personnel for lease accounting issues
  • Record the transfer and disposal of assets within the organization
  • Maintain and update the units of production schedules for mineral interest assets
  • Assist capital department with asset creation and capital job close out
  • Prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations and rollforwards
  • Review various GL integrity reports and resolve any outstanding issues
  • Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies
  • Assist with lease and PP&E related quarterly and/or annual reporting schedules
  • Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable
  • Demonstrates ability to work with team members in a hands-on capacity
