Job description

We're looking for an experienced Firmware Engineering Manager to lead a talented team building the embedded software that powers the next generation of clean energy technology. You'll own firmware development across our renewable energy product line — including solar PV inverters, energy storage systems, and grid communication platforms — playing a direct role in shaping both the technology and the team behind it.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical depth and people management.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership

Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of firmware and validation engineers

Own hiring decisions, career development, and performance management

Drive team execution against project schedules, milestones, and resource plans

Champion a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Technical Execution

Develop, debug, and optimize low-level, real-time firmware in C for embedded power electronics platforms

Lead board bring-up, hardware debug, and system-level integration

Implement control algorithms for power conversion and energy management

Design and validate communication protocols for new product architectures

Build advanced simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation capabilities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with electrical, mechanical, controls, and systems engineering teams to define and deliver product features

Support design reviews and DFMEA activities

Translate stakeholder requirements — internal and external — into clear firmware specifications and design documents

What You Bring

5-15+ years of professional firmware development experience, including at least 2 years in a team leadership role

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

Deep expertise in embedded firmware for power electronics applications

Strong command of C, real-time systems, and low-latency embedded design

Hands-on experience with embedded communication protocols and their driver-level implementation

Proven ability to debug complex, system-level issues and drive them to resolution
