Job Overview
Seeking a high potential candidate to fill a critical role on the Finance Business Partner team supporting Laboratory Operations. This role requires strong IT finance systems capability to support the transition and management of revenue and backlog information within enterprise financial systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of management and administrative financial systems, policies, and procedures, with a focus on integrating backlog and operational data into system based solutions
  • Analyze revenue and backlog performance, including supporting the migration of backlog data into structured financial systems to improve visibility, controls, and reporting
  • Own and build detailed financial analysis tools that support variance analysis, root cause explanations, and management decision making
  • Deliver accurate, insightful financial analysis on actual results, trends, and forecasts to enable improved decision making and drive financial performance
  • Provide ad hoc financial modeling and reporting as required to support business and operational needs

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Seven (7)+ years of work experience in financial planning and analysis, including exposure to the monthly closing, budgeting & forecasting requirements of a publicly traded company
  • Strong experience with finance and IT systems, including financial planning, reporting, and data management platforms, with the ability to support system implementations and process migrations (e.g., backlog and revenue into structured systems)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff within the finance and operational teams
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with office based and remote based, finance and non-finance minded individuals
  • Ability to analyze and organize work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Hyperion financial planning and reporting systems
  • Expertise with MS Office tools, including advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Experience with PeopleSoft desirable
  • Work experience within the CRO, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare information industries preferred
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business situations
  • Work onsite in Durham, NC

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $80,400.00 - $223,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
