How we LEAD:

The Interscope Capitol finance team is seeking a full-time Director, based in both Santa Monica and Hollywood, CA. The Director will primarily conduct deal analyses while also supporting the broader finance team and label group. The candidate is analytical, proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable analyzing new business models / communicating those results. The Director will report to the Sr. Director of Finance at Interscope Capitol and work closely with the Business & Legal Affairs department.

How you'll CREATE:

  • Conduct custom financial modeling and strategic analysis of recorded music deals and unique projects by collaborating with other departments to assess investment returns, establish strategic rationale, and succinctly communicate findings

  • Function as an unbiased partner to proactively aid negotiations

  • Perform post-mortem / current performance analyses for internal management and external stakeholders

  • Manage approval process for select UMG executive approval-level deals

  • Provide financial guidance for other business units & departments ranging from merchandise & music pricing, cost analysis, impairment analysis, etc.

  • Expected to enhance financial models and improve reporting efficiency

Bring your VIBE:

  • Bachelor's degree ideally in Finance, Accounting, or Economics

  • Music industry experience preferred

  • Minimum 7-10+ years of relevant work experience in finance, M&A, consulting/strategy, or similar field. Prior exposure to M&A / deals preferred

  • Proficiency with MS Office products, including advanced excel/financial modeling skills (able to build models from scratch)

  • Proven ability to analyze and communicate complex analyses and key findings to executives

  • Great organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize based on evolving workload and quick deadlines

  • High level of intellectual curiosity, especially around music, technology, and entertainment

  • Personable with strong team-working skills

  • Experience with financial systems a plus (SAP, MicroStrategy, etc.)

  • Comfort using & creating AI-powered tools a plus
